Some people want you to think that snowboarding is about big air, big resorts and MTV, and that you have to pay money to ride. Snowboarding can be free, and no resorts or crowds are required. Snowboarding began as a free sport where ALL riders worked for their runs, and now it has come full circle. There are new places with untracked snow waiting for you to discover them. Join us.


Our team has been snowboarding for almost 20 years, and have spent much of the last 10 years "off-piste", exploring the Vermont hills for hidden jewels of natural terrain and real snow.

VBST is Vermont's only backcountry guiding service by snowboarders for snowboarders. We're a group of riders who want to share the wilder side of the Green Mountains with others, showing them how to find "the goods" safely. Don't make the mistake of "winging it" on your first journey into the backcountry - getting lost or hurt could mean significant rescue expenses (which VT law states you MUST pay) or worse!
