Everybody knows about Flash on the web. It is THE best & most popular way to bring a creative, dynamic & memorable presentation to the web. Over 95+% of all users have the Flash plug-in installed - it is THE most downloaded browser plug-in of all. It can be used to make a site intro with real impact & action, a novel & enjoyble navigational interface, games, productivity & communications tools and more. If you want your site to live & breath and make a real impression on your visitors, you want some Flash!

Unlike many Flash lovers, I do not think that Flash is always the only way to go. Many sites are best suited with a hybrid af HTML/etc. & Flash. Others don't need Flash at all. I use Flash as it seems appropriate and to whatever level the clent requires or desires. I am a confident designer & coder in Flash, and can create whatever a site needs.

The up side to a Flash site is that they make the most impact with visitors and give your site the ability to be creative and not bound by traditional web design rules. The downside is the site may be more expensive to create and tougher to update. Flash sites can also have form-based database-driven content control sites, if desired.

With Flash, the only limit is your imagination (OK, and budget). Here is an example. This is a banner/navigational interface for a Snowboard Backcountry Tour Company. In it, the user finds their way around the site with the trail signs, and the mountain scene is constantly changing as clouds & snow squalls move in & out. Turn on your speakers and you can even hear the wind howling as the snow moves in! How F'n cool is that?
