My name is Peter Banta and I am a web developer. I prefer this title, because while it seems the trend these days is to specialize in either design & programming, I like to do both. I mix these two key ingredients to develop complete web site applications.

I also am not committed to any one language or medium for web presentations. Again, I think it is better to be well-rounded and flexible than restricted and pidgeon-holed. Web contractors who try to convince you that a certain platform or structure are "the only way to go", probably just can't do it any other way. Foremost, I want what you want. Whatever you want it to look like, whatever you want it to do, that's what I want!

I live in Burlington, Vermont with my Wife & 2 Children and our 2 dogs. We like it up here in Northern Vermont a whole bunch. It is a beautiful little slice of the world with big mountains, small lakes and the full range of Nature's offerings & experiences. As you may have surmised from the banner pics, I love the mountains & riding. I spend a lot of my winter free-time hiking the backcountry looking for hidden pow stashes...

I coined the term "InterWeb" one day at work when we were debating the correct use of the terms Internet & Web, and their relative histories and meanings. It seemed to me that we had gotten to the point where these two accepted terms were now being used by people synonymously & interchangeably. Thus, the hybrid InterWeb. I began using it in official communiques. It oddly bugged those with a low fun tolerance, so it stuck. ;)
